A limited number of single 10 frame deeps will be available for pick up by appoint mid-May through June.
10 FRAME SINGLE DEEPS ARE BY PICK UP ONLY BY APPOINTMENT.
TENTITIVE PICK UP STARTING IN MAY DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER.
We offer quantity discounts which will be applied when completing your order.
Each 10 Frame Single Deep will consist of 10 assorted frames of bees, brood, honey, pollen & a new unmarked 2026 VSH queen.
Our disease resistant, varroa sensitive hygienic queens are purchased from a queen breeder with many years of experience providing VSH queens to beekeepers.
Our bees are overwintered in Michigan, and the double deep hives are split to make the single deep hives in April & early May.
Our VSH queens are selected for their hygienic behavior and are very prolific. The queens in the hives are VSH; expressing the hygienic behavior developed by the rigors of controlling mites and brood disease.
Each single deep hive will come in a 10-frame deep box with a migratory lid. The bottom boards are either a single riser, double pallet or 4-way pallet depending on the quantity of single hives purchased.
We encourage you to bring your bee suit when picking up your hive. You are welcome to select your own hive.

Bee Haven, the name of our apiary, was chosen not simply because it’s a catchy phrase, but because it reflects our mission: creating a true haven for bees. Our vision begins with an environment rooted in the principles of permaculture—layered canopy, understory, flowering trees, shrubs, and ground cover working together to support a thriving ecosystem.
And at the heart of it all are the best bees we can provide—gentle, winter-hardy, parasite-resistant, and highly productive.
Each of these elements depends on the others. A perfect environment paired with hot-tempered bees is no joy to manage. Exceptional bees placed in a poor environment will struggle and underperform. And nothing is more discouraging than finding dead colonies in the spring. Too often, improvement efforts focus on just one piece of the puzzle when real success comes from understanding the whole system and making informed, holistic decisions.
Spring brings new beginnings, and with-it, new colonies. This season, we’re offering nucs from our own carefully selected stock.
Let’s work together to build a true Northern Michigan Bee Haven. Support your local bee club—and encourage local youth to get involved as well. The future of beekeeping depends on all of us.
