We are excited this year to offer 5 Frame Nucs with a new 2026 mite resistant VSH queen for Michigan Beekeepers.
A limited number of single 10 frame deeps will be available for pick up by appoint mid-May through June.
Our disease-resistant, Varroa Sensitive Hygienic (VSH) queens come from an experienced breeder renowned for providing VSH stock to beekeepers. These queens are selected for exceptional hygienic behavior and prolific egg-laying, ensuring robust mite and brood disease control in your nucs. The overwintered Michigan bees are split into nucleus colonies in April for optimal strength.

Bee Haven, the name of our apiary, was chosen not simply because it’s a catchy phrase, but because it reflects our mission: creating a true haven for bees. Our vision begins with an environment rooted in the principles of permaculture—layered canopy, understory, flowering trees, shrubs, and ground cover working together to support a thriving ecosystem.
And at the heart of it all are the best bees we can provide—gentle, winter-hardy, parasite-resistant, and highly productive.
Each of these elements depends on the others. A perfect environment paired with hot-tempered bees is no joy to manage. Exceptional bees placed in a poor environment will struggle and underperform. And nothing is more discouraging than finding dead colonies in the spring. Too often, improvement efforts focus on just one piece of the puzzle when real success comes from understanding the whole system and making informed, holistic decisions.
Spring brings new beginnings, and with-it, new colonies. This season, we’re offering nucs from our own carefully selected stock.
Let’s work together to build a true Northern Michigan Bee Haven. Support your local bee club—and encourage local youth to get involved as well. The future of beekeeping depends on all of us.
